In a press conference at the Moscow's Kremlin Cup the French player Kristina Mladenovic was asked what she can learn from her boyfriend Dominic Thiem. Mladenovic said: "I do not even know. For me he is not just a great player, a champion. He is unbelievable, so consistent over the last years, he cracked the top ten rankings at a young age. You can learn it from him. We are similar in terms of smartness and commitment, but his strength, mentality and fighting spirit is what inspires me the most."
Asked if it's time for her to win her second title in Russia, Mladenovic replied: "I hope so. I love Russia, that's why I am here again. Here everyone is nice. My Russian improved. I enjoy my time here. That's a high level event, the support is unbelievable. I can only say good things about St. Petersburg and Moscow."
On his goals for the Erste Bank Open, Thiem said: "Reaching the final. I need to fully be there from the first round. I did not manage to go past that stage before but my success in Kitzbuhel helps me for Vienna. If the crowd is behind you, it can help you. But it can also become bad. I want to make people happy."
