Stefanos Tsitsipas: At some point I will find way to beat Daniil Medvedev

Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas said he felt good on the court against Daniil Medvedev but he just couldn't find a way to beat the Russian.

Tsitsipas, seeded at No. 6, failed to reach the Shanghai Masters final after falling short to third-seeded Medvedev in two tight sets 7-6 (5) 7-5.

Tsitsipas paid the price for not converting any of his three consecutive break point chances in the ninth game of the first set as Medvedev realized his first set point in the tie-break to win a tight opener.

Medvedev, ranked at No. 4 in the world, failed to serve out for the match in the 10th game of the second set but he then showed great mental strength as he won the following two games to seal a straight-set win.

"To be honest, I really felt good today and I felt like I could win this match. I felt good, actually. I didn't feel bad," Tsitsipas said post-match, per the ATP website.

Medvedev, 23, now owns a dominant 5-0 head-to-head record over 21-year-old Tsitsipas.

"Today I actually felt the most comfortable among the other times that I played against him," Tsitsipas added. "I don't know if I'm going to be able to beat him the next time or the time after that one, but I know there's going to be a time where I'm going to find opportunities and beat him. I don't know when it's going to come. Probably two, three, four, five, six years' time, I don't know, but it's going to come at some point."
